MTN Uganda and Victoria University awarded scholarships to ten students to help them continue with college. Swamaduh, Nakayiga Shamim, Kataike Bridget, Nakayiwa Brenda, and Okanya Brian got partial scholarships. In contrast, Nanteza Nuriat, Jumba Jonathan, Nambissa Blessing Tracy, Alupo Yvonne, and Remo Idris Sebbi got full scholarships.
Somdev Sen, MTN Uganda’s Chief Marketing Officer, says that the partnership is based on MTN Pulse’s unwavering commitment to giving young people the chance to reach their full potential and move up in life, which is why the deal was made.
Victoria University and MTN Pulse are working together to find people who can develop new ideas that can change people’s lives and their communities.

According to Wikipedia, MTN Uganda had 11.2 million subscribers at the end of June 2017, accounting for 55% of the Ugandan telecom market. MTN Uganda is the country’s largest telecommunications company.

The Vice-Chancellor told the winners that their behavior at Victoria University would determine which benefits they would receive from their education, as the university provides them with the best education possible so that companies like MTN, which is always looking for experienced people, could hire them.
Dr Muganga said that Victoria University helps students bring their ideas to life and develop their problem-solving skills, which will secure a job in this world of high unemployment.

The public chose the ten winners based on videos explaining why they needed the MTN Pulse-Victoria University scholarships. Over 12,000 votes were cast on Pulse.
